4-Way Pneumatic Solenoid Valves
(5 Port)

4-way pnuematic electric solenoid valves may used when controlling double acting pneumatic cylinders. These valves have 5 ports (IN, out 1, Out 2, Exhaust 1, Exhaust 2). The seperate exhaust allows for the ability to control air flow on the exhaust. This is usefull when needing to slowi down a cylinder in one direction but not the other.

These valves will control air flow operating a cylinder in two directions (extension & retraction). If you only need to control a cylinder in one direction (such as a single acting spring return cylinder), you can use a 3-way pneumatic solenoid valve.

NOTE: A 4-way valve may still be used while controlling a single acting cylinder. By plugging off one of the OUT ports, this valve will function the same as a 3-way valve, while leaving you the option in the future to control a double acting cylinder.
